Last night we saw the worst our country has to offer. Hatred, bigotry, and fear officially accepted the nomination of our country’s oldest political party.
The Republican nomination of Trump and Pence is a direct attack on the values of our city and our country: hatred of immigrants, bigotry towards the LGBT community, and fear of communities of color. We must take a stand against this.
Join me in condemning this hatred. Join me in standing up for the things we believe in. Join me in making our city and country a better place. We create the Government we deserve by supporting and electing people who share our values. Help us challenge the politics of division, by contributing whatever you can today. Let’s show those who preach hatred and fear, that we’re all in this together.
To quote President Obama, if you don’t like the results you’re seeing from Government, “don’t get mad. Organize!” We can expect better from Congress and we can expect better from City Hall, but we have to use our voice and fight for the things we believe in.
